My family's moving from current apartment; management at the complex sent out a new move out notice policy that states: " Beginning today, your 30-day notice will no longer be required to sart at the beginning of the month, rather you may submit your notice at any time, and it will be effective 30 days from that date. For example: if you give you 30 day notice on April 17, your move out date will May 16; you wold pay a prorated amount of rent for the 16 days in May. All other lease provision are still in full force and effect. We hope you find this policy to be helpful in the event of your move." I sent my 30 day notice as stated I should and will pay my prorated amount as instructed but they are now saying I had to have let them know by the FIRST of the month and now must pay an additional month's rent!!!
Really need advice on what to do cause I strongly feel this is unfair to be able to renege on a policy.
