I was recently pulled over for a questionable lane change(but not cited for it) but during the traffic stop discovered my licesne was suspended. After doing a little research I realize how serious this can turn out to be. Turns out the reason for the suspension was failure to pay off a previous ticket(speeding) that I had thought paid off. As far as I know I did not get a notice.

My question is simple: If I take care of all the fees and get my license re-instated asap and before the court date for the violation is there a good chance they are going to drop it? What is likely to happen? What MIGHT happen if I am unlucky?

Contact the court and pay the fines and then pay the DOT to have your license reinstated. Take your license down to the court and talk to the clerk. If you get lucky you might get it dismissed. Otherwise a fine and another suspension. If they won't work with you it will be in your best interest to consult with an attorney.
