I was caught shoplifting at Store name last week (STUPID, I know 
) The police or security were NOT called, and I gave the manager mt SSN, drivers license, and signed a paper saying I would not go to Store name for three years. He gave me a sheet with Store name's lawyer's info on it and said: "If you have any questions, you can contact our lawyer. He may or may not be contacting you, but he probably will." I took 2 shirts, totaling less than $100.
MY questions are:
1) I was confused at the "may or may not, but probably will" comment. How likely is it that he won't contact me?
2)If he does contact me, how long will it take?
3)How high are fines for stealing <$100? (ballpark)
4)Can I call and change the address that the lawyer will send any notifications to?
