**URGENT** evicted because not on lease

My friend lives in Mesa, AZ, and she's being evicted because she's not on the lease, but her husband is. Is this legal?

Why was she not added to the lease when it was originally signed or (if they married after the original lease was signed) when they married?

What are the reasons for the eviction? Are there issues with the couple fighting and perhaps disturbing the other residents?

He moved into the apartment 4 yrs. ago and they've only been married for three, so she moved in afterwords. She filled out an application but, because of credit, was refused. She has been there for three years now and the landlord is just now raising the issue.
