I really need your help.i was arrested about a month ago at STORE NAME in chicago for retail theft. the item they detained me for was a shirt($20). i was arrested by the burbank police and was taken to the station. later on i was bailed out by my for $100 and they told me i would have to appear in court. i have not received any civil demand or anything but i do have to go to court THIS MONDAY! i need any advice you can give me! i cant hire an attorney because i have no money, i am 18 and should be getting a job this weekend to pay my court cost. i wanted to know what are my options for when i go to court? also, can i submit to a diversion program? and lastly, what should i expect in court on monday? i have no prior criminal record if that means anything.
ps:if i do have to pay fines(hope not), how much do you think that would be?
