My parents and 2 older brothers were born in Germany and became American citizens in the 1950's soon after immigrating here. I was born in the US in 1953. I have family (cousins) now living in Germany. Is there any way I can obtain dual German/US citizenship?

Most probably no. Germany does not encourage dual citizenship. If you have not been born a German citizen because the parents were German citizens at the time of your birth, you cannot normally become a German citizen and keep your American citizenship. The German law would require you to give up your American citizenship upon naturalization in Germany.
