Quick question...
The outside lock of my apartment door was super-glued shut by vandals (probably a bunch of kids having fun in the building) while I was living there. I immediately filled out an incident report with the building manager and called a locksmith to let me in. Naturally the lock was unsalvageable so they had to replace it. However I choose not to get to top lock fixed because we never used it. After moving out the landlord deducted this from the security deposit after informing her and the building of what had happened.
Who is liable for vandalism done by a third party...tenant or landlord?
