Is it legal, and something within my rights, to video tape a walk through with the resident manager upon move out inspection? I have been informed by an old tenant that he changes the move out checklist sheet once you sign it and hand it back to him by adding more charges that you didn't agree to. He does not provide a copy of the checklist to you when it is complete. Is that legal too?
I figured if i videotaped, then I'd have it all right there in front of me. However, he will more then likely say no, I can't tape yet I wonder if that's within his rights?
I want to do everything in my power to get my full security deposit back, without deductions I am not due. I just don't know how to secure this. The resident manager is not helpful, or nice.
Thank you.
