There are a lot of articles talk about visa cap. what is it?
is the h1 visa limited to be 65000? and there would be a lottery if there are too many people apply?
what happen if the employees would not be selected? would that be more chance for those who graduated in a USA university? or with a master? with a PhD?
 
Yes your limit is about right.........there are however about 750000 different classes of work visas from L to H issued each year. Once the quota is met, then they stop. Last year or so it was met in just a day! I can't start explaining the exotic ways some companies do to handle their employees who don't get approved.......it is a legal hole but they do their best and have some success..... The place you graduated for does not give you an advantage............. Everyone who gets relevant labor approval pretty much has the same chance. PhD candidates and such higher qualified persons have I thing an extra 20000 place for H work or similar visas. There even ways to extend H visas to beyond the six years.........There is always a way out which companies lobby for to make sure they are never short in supply.
 
Yes.........definitely.............You would benefit in many ways.
 
More H1B visas, pay, demand in research, tenure.........immigration generally goes easier on their applications even if they don't admit. They are the back bone of our tomorrow. Most qualify for exceptions if they are PhDs.
 
Masters is about same but will not qualify you for the extra 20000 visas.
 
They are extra work visas for mostly PhD grads and extremely highly qualified people or unique talents required here.
