My son is scared to return to his fathers every other weekend. Last visit father was drunk and out of control with live in girlfriend. I had to pick up my son at 10 pm that evening because of the situation. My son has been in counseling trying to deal with issues with his father. My son mentioned a gun in the dresser and he says he feels unsafe. Do i have to make him go this weekend?

Most people would call the police if their sweet, innocent cute, charming child had to endure the presence of an out of control, stark raving maniac, inebriated because of excessive consumption of adult beverages.

By calling the local gendarmes, one could establish PROOF for the court case he or she would bring against the lunatic parent to protect the innocent, little snowflake.

Ditto on calling the police next time. You still must comply with the court order for visitation but can file for an emergency hearing if there is a safety issue.
