On March 3rd 2010 my ex i did mediation in which she agreed to give me a $50 gas card upon the return of the children on Sundays ( we live 169 miles apart) the agreement also states that we would meet for mediation again after a year to review financial contribution for transportation. On March 3 2011 my ex stops providing gas card. March 8th 2011 we meet back for mediation and she is not even willing to discuss the issue of transportation because she was advised that she is no long obligated. I want to file a notice of motion ( I am pro se) and ask if the children can travel via Amtrak instead ( I have checked and they have an unaccompanied minors policy) or ask for us to meet half way and to be reimbursed the $50 for the visits after the march 3rd date that she quit providing the gas card. Are theses reasonable request

As I recall from a different board...you created the distance, correct?

And your kids are how old?

AMTRAK's rules on unaccompanied minors aren't what one might think.

Allowing a minor to ride unaccompanied on AMTRAK is left to the ultimate discretion of the interviewing AMTRAK authority figure (station agent or conductor).

On a personal note, I'd never permit a child of mine to ride unaccompanied on AMTRAK, too many perverts to risk that!

But, I'd never ask an "ex' to reimburse my child's visits, either.

Come to think of it, I don't have an "ex".

And surely, I would NOT be wanting my minor kids to travel unaccompanied on the Amtrak.

I believe Mom has a VERY good chance of fighting this.
