Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Walmart California Petty Theft?

Hi i am 16 and live in california, yesterday at walmart i and my friend stole $35.00 worth of things. They said they caught me on camera and when i was leaving they told me to follow them to secuity. I was in their and they took my and my friend's information, name address... etc, they called my parents and they picked me up and my parents went crazy and yelled of course. The walmart security said their will be a fine of $50 to $500 sent to me house and (NO POLICE WERE INVOLVED) I was wondering if this affected my future career if they do a back ground check on me, and was wondering if they saw this on my record or does it wipe out?, or does it affect my school, mainly does it affect my permanent record

i would be very thankful if anyone responds to this plz help thank you.. i learned my lesson....

Long as the issue remains a "civil" event the only record is with the store and any retail theft database they might subscribe to. This will not show up in any criminal background check
