Hello:
I am a 36 yr old mother with a family and 2 children.
yesterday I was caught shop lifting at a retail store. I dont know what came into my mind, I wanted to buy my husband his gift and not want use his money for that.( I was using his debit card at that time)..I am very ashamed and I cannot forgive myself. So far, I was an example for my family all these yrs and now I dont feel I am a good mother.
So there was a lady who stopped me at the door. She scared me to walk with her upstairs, else she will call the cops. I was apologizing al the way. I told her everything and what was in my mind at that time. She did not call the cop and made me sign 2 papers that she printed out. She put her stuff back in the store.
She then took my DL info, phone number a picture of me and asked if I do work and where. I was so tense I dont remember the first one on which I had to sign and date ( I think it was like prohibiting me from going to the store forever) and second one form is wherein I have to pay a fine of $250 (which I paid off the minute I got home). So my worry is:
1. I dont know if they will inform the cop and will the cop come to my door step and arrest me or give me a court order.
2.Will I be allowed to go to other stores and be a regular shopper?
3. Will they inform other stores that I am a shoplifter and that I need to be checked each and every time?
4. Did she take my picture because she will put it up in the store as a me being a shoplifter?
5. I know they have my record in their database so will this come on the criminal record also.
This Christmas has been very sad for me and I am very ashamed . I only wish Lord forgives me as I promise I will never ever do this.
I also told the lady I will promise to be a good citizen henceforth.
