i was caught shoplifting yesterday for about $80 worth of merchandise. the guy came after me outside and told me to go to the back. he didnt call the police on me, but just took my id, made a photocopy of it, did a background check, and took a picture of me as well. i saw him putting down my information in the computer system too and entering the items that i've took. i didnt sign any papers as well since he gave me anything. he then said he was going to let me go, but in 2 conditions.. i am not allow to go to any of that store anymore or else its trespassing and second, i will be getting a letter or the bill for the fine. i think it was a civil demand bill he said.. sorry i was really scared and out of it and couldnt think straight. i asked him how much will it be and he said around $50-$500. i dont want anyone to know about this because i feel so embarrassed. i am over 18, so i am an adult. how much do you think the bill will be around? how long will it take for them to send it to me? and what's going to happen now? will anything worse happen after they send the bill or whatsoever? please help.. i need all the help i can get. im so terrified right now, i dont know what to do!

i read in most people's posts that they had to sign something, but i was never to be given to sign anything. do you think they'll still send me something? and i was wondering can you give me an estimate of when i would be receiving the bill? will everything be back to normal after i pay it? and also do i need to go to court for this. sorry for all the questions, but i'm just really worried at this point and want to know every consequences that i'll face in the future.

i just called the store right now and i asked them the situation. they said they wont have anything to do with it except their lawyers processing it and how i would only be charged whatever they're charging me for by doing those papers. so it's like a processing fee. also a letter will be sent along about no trespassing. is that possible for it to have like that and not involve civil demands or anything?
