My mother(59 years old) stole clothes for the first time, total value $325 with accomplice my sister(26 years old),the store call the police, both went to prison only one night with fine $3000 each one(it was consider mayor felony),they talk with the judge and she told them if they want to pay the fine or report to court every week,of course they pick up the first choice, both have to go to court and wait the judge decide, i would like to know if they can plead not guilty or its gonna be worst? what happen if my mother say it was her idea of steal is detrimental? and if she tell them that she doesn't work can the judge find out pulling the social? :blush thanks

Neiter one wants to just walk in and plead guilty. Since they are charged with felonies they could go to prison. both need Lawyers. Once they get a Lawyer they should discuss plea options with their Attorneys! One blaming the othere wont wash your sister is an adult and capable of making her own decisions. both enrolling in an Anti Shoplifting course should help them get reduced sentences

They go to jail and get out the next day and they have to go report to the court (they called SOR) every week,i dont know why the fine it was for $3000 each one,but one it was reduce to $1500,my mother stole aprox value $95 and my sister the rest, together is total $324,still considered felony?

Because they were charged with felonies they had to post bail to get out of jail. This is what the $3000.00 was for. It doe snot matter what each stole as they worked as team so dollar value is combined. Now your Mother "might" get charged rduced to misdemeanor based on what she stole. She should discuss this with her Attorney as possible plea deal. both should also enroll in Anti Shoplifting course to please Judge. I cannot guarantee this will help rduce sentencing but it wont hurt! I can suggest such a course from the NASP (National Assocaition for Shoplifting Prevention).

when my mother went to jail they asker if she works or if she has properties and she says no,do you think if she tell truth they gonna put like warraty her properties and force to pay the fine?

I don't think your reading this very well. We can assume you were asked abourt property in case you skip on court and forfiet your bail. The bailbondsman does not want to lose that money so they often times as for something as insurance if you skip they wont be left holding the bill. Long as you show up to court all is well

All you will lose if you go up to court is your initial fee... Bail bondsmen have to make money somehow.

However, if you Fail to Appear (FTA) they will hunt you down, catch you, drag you to jail and take your property.

And they will come take you whenever and whereever, had a friend once "missed" thier court date, they cam and got them at work, middle of waiting on a customer, at first my friend thought she was being robbed, Bounty Hunert walked right in, came behind the counter and put her in handcuffs and took her out, no explination to fellow employees or anything, they though she was being kidnapped. :D
