Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft What is it?

I wanted to know about my shoplifting case. This happened back in 1994, I was caught with a sweater that was around $35.00 that one of my friends stuck in my bag while i was in the dressing room. Security came chasing they ran and I didn't because I knew I had nothing to worry about. They took me in the back, cops were called I was taken to the police station and I just had to show ID to get released. I went to court and had to pay a fine. I want to know what kind of conviction is this considered.

Without knowing the dispostion of case we cannot say. If I had to guess I would say you now have a criminal record for theft

Would this be consider a misdemeanor or felony

If all you had to do was pay a fine then its likely a misdemeanor
