Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft will a store file criminal charges monthes after incident?

im 19 and was caught shoplifting around 8 dollars worth of merch in CA in December, and no police were involved. i just got my civil demand for a little over 300. i have all the means o paying it but im worried about criminal charges being filed. How likely is it that criminal charges will be brought if they have not been already? im on probabtion but dont have enough money to hire an attorney so i just dont really know how to go about this....do i pay the civil demand hoping thats the end of it? im just worried about criminal charges.

Where cannot say for certain the likihood they will file charges several months later is very low. Long as you pay the Civil Demand and obey any ban you got you should be fine.
