I am currently a freshman in college and I have some questions. On December 26, 2004, I was arrested for shoplifting. I went to court, entered a guilty plea, was sentenced to 25 hours of community service, and to attend a diversion class. Because I completed the terms successfully, the case was dismissed. I went to talk to a lawyer to find if I could have the whole thing expunged but he said he was not able to locate my case or anything associated with it. I am in college majoring in Environmental Chemistry and am worried that this one mistake will ruin the rest of my life. Could someone please tell me if there is a way that I can look into this to see what remains? I don't want to complete college and go get a job only to learn that I cannot work because of this mistake which is why I want to take care of it now. Please someone help.
