There is an non-profit in the USA whose website states that a certain terrorist organization (on the official US list) is one of it's board members. Crazy, right? But true nonetheless.

While I've found that "providing material support to a terrorist organization" is illegal (18 U.S. Code § 2339B - Providing material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute), I couldn't find anything about it being illegal to belong to a terrorist organization or associate with a terrorist organization.

So, helpful lawyers and legal professionals, can you please help me find any law that states that it is illegal to belong to a terrorist organization or be associated with one?

I suggest you stay away from any organization you suspect may have any links to terrorist organizations.

WHY?

The government monitors ALL terrorists activities, and any affiliated organizations.

You don't want to get caught up in anything associated with such groups, because the government aggressively, actively prosecutes such activity.

Its just like kiddie porn sites, just LOOKING at what is posted on those kiddie porn sites can get you in a very hot kettle of stew.

Giving aid and comfort can mean whatever the government wants it to mean, trust me, its bets just to keep your distance.
