I agree, Betty! Almost all the pets I've ever had have just wandered into my life (homeless kittens that nobody else wanted, or our dog who was offered to us because the owner couldn't keep her and would've gone to the animal shelter if we hadn't taken her). I got a kick out of reading how many of you do that "trick" to make it seem like you're not paying so much for gas! We have the opposite problem...my husband will fill the tank up at work and the office just adds it onto our running bill and then I have a heart attack when I go to pay the bill...

Right now it's $4.19 here (southeast Alaska) and that's down from a high of $4.25. My DH works for a fuel distributor and can get an employee discount when he fills up the car at work but even with the discount I think we still pay around $3.75.
