Awesome. You found those sites ... which actually support my stance. Saved me from listing 'em. Look. An eviction is hardly an invitation to have tea with the Queen. But it won't leave you on death row, either. There are plenty of landlords more than willing to make an exception...

    Custody

I'm still a bit baffled actually. Grandma has no legal right to keep the child from Dad. I'm not sure why this seems so difficult - it's a shoe-in. Dad files, and unless Grandma can file for custody herself, and proves him unfit, he's going to get custody. OP, I have to...

    Custody

The agreement means nothing, legally. He needs to get paternity sorted out, and file an ex-parte (emergency) custody order so he can go and retrieve the child. No, her Mother has no legal custody or rights to the child in that context - a POA doesn't confer parental rights.

Mother Legal guardian and possible father

Elle, I know where you're coming from and I don't necessarily disagree. But. This baby is 4 months old. Mom never signed over custody; the state really doesn't care too much that she had a "permanent babysitter" watching the child while she... did... whatever it was that she did...

(It can prevent you from renting in the more exclusive areas, but other than that? The vast majority of landlords are fine with deposit, first and last - and even finer if you have someone co-sign. I am not an attorney but I do have extensive experience with landlord-tenant issues here)

Would someone perhaps enlighten me as to how a single eviction will doom the Mother and her child forever - or even long term - in OP's state? I'll wait. We might want to hold off condemning this poster, too. It's hardly helpful.

    my two young nephews

I can answer this. You have nothing. She's taking medication for depression = she's being treated. You have no standing to file for visitation of the children. What's your brother doing about it?

    Custody

He should ask his attorney why they're not filing in court to change custody. (Dad has every right to do this)

And I'll comment further that even if she's effectively unemployed, she still has rights under the law. In other words, she has the right to stay - and no, she's not a trespasser - right up until she's handed a court order. The lack of tenancy in this situation matters not.

One should love one's children more than one hates one's ex. Truly words of wisdom!

Right, exactly. But even if the company itself files an eviction, it's not the end of the world by any means.

No it won't. This OP lives in WA state. With the new information, it confuses things, but you rest assured Army Judge that in our fair state it is NOT all doom and gloom. Specially when it comes to evictions and the ability to rent again afterwards. One might say we're second only...

You're a caregiver, and you don't have a separate tenancy. You've just been effectively fired. You know you have to move. But here's the deal: you CANNOT be forced out like this. The owner/whoever must evict you, and evict you properly according to the law. You're not...

    custody issues

You have very limited visitation to begin with. Before we go any further, is there a specific reason why you have only short, supervised visits? (No, the police won't do anything other than maybe allow you to file a report)

    Business Debt, Collections help

Oh, I think I'd let them call one more time. And I'd immediately tell them that for quality purposes I'm recording this phone call and say "could you give your name and direct line please?" If they hang up: Scam. If they actually give the info: Well... come back and let us know.

It's also true that Mommies get mad at Daddies and try to punish Daddies by withholding their little ones.

Business Debt, Collections court case, debt collector

It's not the penal code, it's the civil code. You didn't pay the original debt, presumably. Not doing so created the breach. This is where it gets tricky though, and this is where you might end up paying a whole lot more than you think. The debt collector can charge interest...

    Other Immigration Law Tina

A crime does not always make someone deportable. It can make them inadmissible, but not deportable. Now about that green card. His residency does not actually expire - to put it very simply, it's nothing more than proof he can work. His work permit wouldn't matter, if he has his...
