I was dating a girl and she bought a truck and got the money from her mother to buy it. I told her mother I would pay half. She had contract notarized but I was not present to witness the notary. We have since split up. Am I still responsible for this loan? Is there a way I can get out of this contract?

Most contracts don't need to be notarized to be binding and it's unlikely that your contract with your ex had to be.

However, it might or might not be enforceable depending on the exact wording.
