Hello,
I've recently went on holidays with a friend, I had my own ticket and I offered to pay half of hers, which I did with my credit card. She gave me a check for the amount right before leaving which I was meant to cash after the trip (3 weeks).
Things went sour during the trip and when I tried to cash the check upon our return it bounced with a stop payment order on it.
I've contacted her and she confirmed that she ordered the stop payment and hung up on me.
The ticket was issued to her name on my credit card, and the check was drawn to my name. I will send a certified letter to her demanding payment and will initiate a case at the small claims court. Is my evidence solid enough to request payment? I believe the goods were actually delivered (the airline ticket) and the check was stopped without good reason.
Any clarification will be much appreciated.
