I have a consent judgment from a divorce from 4/24/01 for a promissory note of $125,000. The judge assigned an attorney as receiver; he never did anything at the time. Is there a statue of limitations or can I pursue this now and try to collect. What can I do?
If this is a loan, you may have some options and may not be precluded from the statute of limitations. The law isn't in place to allow people to wriggle out of their debts.
