Credit report and divorce issues

After running a credit report I learned that two companies that were noticed of the divorce in writing. Have been placing repeatedly without noticing me negative information on my report for cards that they were told to close before there were any balances.

I assumed the cards had been closed, since I had not received any bills, neither statement nor any information stating the accounts were behind or that they had or were going to collections.

My first sight of it was seeing it run on my records month after month after month.

When I wrote the two companies I thought I had done the correct thing. I wrote requesting they close the accounts. Stating we had divorced enclosed a copy of the degree. And thought that was the end of it.

I also noted under the personal information upon two of the reports it now had my former spouses address which is in another state.

The correcting of the address I am assuming once again is a simple matter of showing I have never moved form where I am now, that I have never lived in that state.

As to the first, where do I go from here? I did not send the letters back some 4 years ago certif. Did not believe I needed too. Should I simply turn the whole thing over to someone more capable in handling this, or is this something I can do myself?

How I am handing this…….

I went to a attorney, with a rental agreement of where I moved after my divorce, showing how long I had lived there, I copy of the letters I sent to the two companies, (thank the powers that be I am a packrat)! am still fighting the issue yet I have managed to show they were given notice, there was a divorce, they were told to cancel the cards, they did not give me notice of the cards still being open accounts. To date we are fighting like wild cats. But I feel I am in the right I did what we are told to do after a divorce. And like I told my attorney they will not see a penny! Granted he will see them *laughs* at least I can laugh about it...okay after a lot of fit throwing.

The repeated month after month has been removed, a correction of address I have gotten changed on my credit reports, why that was ever changed in the first place, I will never understand!!! Slowly but surely it will all work out, might the powers that be give me peace of mind and clear thoughts for a times the ones I have will surely land me in the big house and I do so fear my nature would not win me friends there *laughs harder* gotta keep laughing at times to not go insane.
