Hello everyone, i am new at this so thanks for taking the time. I have a Derogatory account on my credit report that was paid in full. What can i say i was young and stupid. This was about 3 years ago (yes a person can change a lot in 3 years) and i really want to find a way to get it off my credit report sooner than later. After spending hours online reading different things from different people the best solution that i have found is to write a "goodwill" letter to the bank. Being that i currently hold accounts with them and all my accounts (their's and others) are in good standing i have a good chance of getting it removed. However, I was wondering if there is a certain order that i should approach things. I dont want this to be my one and only option. Should i first Challange this account or should i just send in the letter? I was also considering those credit repair agencies but from what i have read they really dont do much. This is a huge dilemma for me. The other issue i am having is, this is appearing twice on my credit report but under 2 semi-different account #s. For example one is 12345678**** and the other appears as 123456****.
