I'm from maryland and headed to virginia for a concert. a freind and i decided to walk around and saw a guy with a cooler full of beer so we bought 2 off him. we are both 20. immediatly two under cover state police walked over and asked us for identification. i had just opened mine and taken a sip. we both said our ID's were in the car outside. unfortunatly mine was actually in my wallet. after a large man in a gotee threatned to toss me in jail kept on padding me down and, after feeling my wallet, demanded identification. in a state of hurried confusion i brought out a freinds expired ID. he asked me if i had any other forms of identification and demanded to see more. finally i brought out my real liscence and he took us into a trailer, handcuffed tightly. they were pleasant after getting all of the information out of us. i now have a chrage of possesion of alcohol and false identification. do the two charges combine to make my offense look worse? i don't know anything about virginia law and how they handle these things. am i looking at a small fine and community service, or more? i heard virginia is harsh with these things.
