Forced to write a check.

Who forced you to write a check? To whom? Why? Who should give you your money back? How did they force you - did they hold a gun to your head? Why do you believe you should not have written the check?
My mom died last year. Her insurance left $150,000 dollars wich was split between my sister and I. She put our parents house under her name and kicked
everyone out of the house. Before I moved out, and before I could get all my stuff she made me write her a check for the insurance money; claiming
that now that the house was under her name the money was hers too. There was never a written agreement as to who was to keep that money.
She wouldnt let me get all my belongins until I wrote that check. Also, she kept going thru my mail, opening bank statements and other stuff.
I wrote her a check for $47,000 dollars and thats all I want back.

You voluntarily wrote the check.
I think your chances are slim, but speaking with a lawyer might be informative for you.

You could have stopped payment of the check but it is likely too late for that now.
You went about this entirely wrong. It sounds like you were improperly evicted from the house. You weren't forced to do anything though.
