giving up father rights

I messed and got her knocked up. at first she said I could give up my rights.
Now she says no!!!!!!


I want to give up my father rights I want nothing to do with her or the child.

What so I need to do?


Please help the baby is to be born on 1/11/08

but could be sooner.

She can petition the courts for child support from you. A paternity test may be ordered by the court. If you are indeed the father, no judge will allow you to sign away your parental rights.

For some reason, people think they can give up parental rights whenever they want. This is not true, and you cannot sign away your rights. Definately get a paternity test before signing anything to ensure you really are the father and tell her you will not agree to anything until one is done. It will be worth the expense, especially if it turns out you're not the father...happens more often than you think.

Can't Terminate Rights...

:no: Someone is misleading you about terminating their rights as a father. This only occurs in specific situations for example, when a step-father wants to adopt the child and the father is willing to terminate for the adoption of the child or when child protection services moves to terminate for abuse or for the safety of the child.

A father cannot terminate just because he doesn't want to take responsibilty for having unprotected sex or a one-night-stand , or whatever lame ass excuse he comes up.

You don't have to have anything to do with the child BUT you will have to pay child support.

Despite how sure you are that the child is yours take a paternity test AND don't sign anything acknowledging you are the father until you do so. :yes:
