I was a day late with the rent, The following day the landlord presented me with an eviction notice to vacate the premises within 60 days. 30 days have passed, the finances I should be paying rent with I have been trying to save in order to relocate.
The landlord lives next door, yesterday she entered the property (trespassing?) and demanded the rent from my girlfriend. My girlfriend demanded the landlord leave, the landlord left only after numerous threats were exchaged.
The landlord then left the premises and called me at my workplace, demanding that my supervisor get me on the phone, and not only filling him in on my personal situation, but also calling me girlfriend names.
When I got on the phone with The landlord she demanded her rent and informed me that if I did not pay her that night she would have someone come over and remove my belongings the following day (today). She also made various spiteful threats about ways she could get back at me that me if I did not pay her. She says she "knows people" (Extortion? )
I realize she has no right to just throw me out without a court order, but what can I do in the meantime to keep her from bothering me?
