Lawyer speak translation please

I sent my tenant an unsigned copy of a lease renewal. He agreed to renew and said "Will revert with the signed copy." Does that mean he wants me to sign before he signs?

FYI he's a lawyer.

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask the person who said it, as opposed to a bunch of random strangers on the internet who, despite the occasional bright spark, simply are not mind readers?

The phrase simply indicates/translates that the person receiving the document will return the signed document at a later date/time.

Its a common way to confirm that he/she/it will complete the signing process and send the SIGNED document back to you, the originator.

The next step(s) upon your receipt of the signed document is (are) yours.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with all landlord/tenant laws in your state if you're going to rent to a lawyer because you can be sure that he will do the same. You don't want to be at a disadvantage.
