I moved my boat to a new marina and was told before I did that I would not be prorated by the previous manager. It was given as enticement to move my boat there.
My contract states the lease commencement date is 7/01/09 even though I brought my boat there on 6/13.
A new manager took over and after refusiing to sign a waiver that included some damage caused by the marina I received a bill for the remainder of June.
I have all previous bills (4-months) from the marina none of which include a bill for June.
Question: Is what they are trying to do legal?
Thanks: WK

Not if your lease started in July. With the other bills in hand you can show evidence of the deal you said they made.

Thanks for your input.
The problem now is, what do I do? The new charges are appearing on my bill and they still won't respond when asked about the proper way to get my damages repaired.

Look up the marina's registered agent on the Secretary of States web site. Send the RA a certified letter demanding that they abide by your contract and immediately fix your damages or you are going to court with them. This will solve your immediate problem. The new manager may take it out on you in some other way. Watch him.

Thanks

After refusing to pay, Loggerhead Marina has asked me to remove my vessel from their facility. Good riddens Loggerhead! When I went in to remove my boat all staff had been replaced.
Brilliant business move don't you think. About 80% vacant now so I guess I wasn't the only person they were messing with.
Thanks again for your help!
