Hmm, another "constable" issue. In the U.S., no one can legally confine you to jail for a debt unless they have an Order from the Court to allow it. In a normal debt collection matter, such as yours, from what I understand in your post, you would have to be served with the Complaint and a Judge would have to order confinement and/or a monetary award. Confinement is usually in the case of failure to pay child support, and other breaches (contempt) of Court Orders that have previously been filed. I know of no State in the U.S. that confines anyone in jail for debt collection, unless criminal charges existed, which is not the case here. Debt collection claims are adjudicated, and if its not disputed, a Judgment can be entered for the full amount requested, which would allow the Creditor to garnish your wages, file liens against your property, etc. If you do not live in the U.S., then, I'm sorry ...
