NC Speeding Ticket, 20 over

I got a ticket last night doing 65 in a 45 (In NC, NC licence), this is my first offense. Im 18 y/o and have had my license for about 7 months and am still on my parents insurance. The officer said that I could ask for a Prayer of Judgement and maybe have the ticket reduced to 9 over. Since this is my first ticket, I don't know what to do and I really dont want my parents insurance to go up. Is the DA going to be linient since this is my first offense? Is it worth it to use a Prayer for Judgement or should i just hire a lawyer? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

A 15+ ticket in NC is an automatic license suspension. The officer gave you good advice. Go in and talk to the ADA on your own. If you can't get either of them, retain an attorney.
