Non Renewal of Lease in CT

Hi I am new here and I just have a simple ?. I just received a Notice for Non Renewal of my lease. It states that it will end on 3/15/2005. My question is does the landlord have to legally tell me why the lease is not being renewed? Can I write him a letter and ask that I have an explanation as to why it is not being renewed? I live in CT

No, the landlord does not have to provide you with any reason why the lease is not being renewed. I know, it does seem to feel a little "wrong" but it is his property and he doesn't need a reason to do with it as he pleases.
