As suggested many times, wait until you have the letter or the summons, then we can POSSIBLY assist you better.

Guessing is a waste of time for you and us.
 
You don't understand what entrapment is.

When your friend receives the letter he should seek legal counsel before doing anything the letter demands.
 
It is not entrapment for officers to confront someone who advertised they planned to violate the law. It is how undercover work happens.

Google "civil forfeiture".

None of us can accurately state what he might be charged with, and without knowing what charges might be filed, it is impossible to say what penalties might be imposed if he is found guilty. For now, he needs to follow his lawyer's advice and zip it. Once/if he is charged, then he needs to consult an attorney.

I already explained to you why it's not entrapment, so you're asking a question that's already been answered. Based on what I told you, why do you think it is entrapment?
 
Let your "friend" deal with his own legal problems. You do not help by blabbing about his criminal case all over multiple Internet forums.
