My ex wife is giving her sister medical POA of our children. Is this legal? I am very involved in my childrens lives, pay child support, have my visitation (and more). I am concerned because we have joint custody and 50/50 shared parenting and decision making. This was all decided in our divorce and parenting plan 8 years ago. I dont feel someone else ought to make decisions regarding my children when I am here and available 24/7. She is having surgery; but the children will be with me. I do not live in the same town as my ex and children, but am able to get to them in short period of time. This is just one of the threats she is making. She also says she can keep the children from me if something should happen to her. I have no criminal records or bad reps. We live in West Virginia and were divorced in West Virginia. I have remarried, own my home and provide the children with all they need. I work full time and am in the military. Please help!

I dont think she can legally do this. She can give her sister POA for her, but not the kids. I would stop listening to her. If something happens to her, custody would go to you, especially since you have joint and see the kids frequently.
