A lien was placed on my property for partially paid Home Association (HA) Dues. I received a notice in Sept. that unless the balance was paid within 30 days for the past due amount a lien would be filed. I paid the balance that was past due within 30 days. The HA dues are paid twice each year: the first in Feb. the second in August. The letter I received stated all past due amounts must be paid within 30 days. I did not realize they also wanted the HA dues for August paid within 30, which in my payment stub does not give a specific time to pay. I received the notice on Sept. 11. I had already mailed a payment for the past due amount on Sept. 9, before receiving the notice. Long story short, I just received notice a few days ago, that they did place a lien on my property even thou the HA dues for Feb. were paid within the 30 day notice, they also wanted the Aug. HA dues included in the payment. The Sept. notice stated this but I totally misunderstood. Why, because I have never paid the August HO dues within 30 days, only a late fee is added and I pay it when funds come available. I have been paying the same way for 6 1/2 years. I have not spoken to the law office/collection agency, who placed the lien for the company. They have not returned my calls, yet. Is there anything I can do to have this lien removed off of my public records and ultimately, I am assuming, can affect my credit score?

A property lien will not affect your credit score. If they get a judgment against you that will. Just pay it and get a cancellation of lien. No big deal, you will be ok.
