Puppy sale contract

The breeder is holding off on his registration, it would take a year to confirm if the heart murmur will go away or might be diagnosed with SAS (congenital heart problem). After i get the result then I will make a decision to neuter the puppy if needed. Since there is a breached of contract I just want full ownership of the puppy. And I don't want to deal with dishonest people and put this behind us the soonest time possible.

the heart check is between 500 to 1000 expense, that the breeder is not willing to share the cost of. They created this mess for not disclosing, then after almost two months that they will offer a refund, which they know that we will not do anymore since we've bonded with the puppy already.

Bullmastiff, they said the reason why they can't give me full ownership, it because they are concerned with lineage, they just produce puppies having heart murmurs , what lineage are they talking about. The only way we found out that this exists is that one of the littermates had her puppy check during a dogshow and discovered the condition and made us aware that almost all pups have it and the breeder tried to hide that fact.

Then offer to have the dog fixed as has been suggested.

First, i do not believe having dogs fixed only when needed. If the heart murmur is benign which means there is a possibility to breed, which was the original intention to begin with which the breeder is aware of prior to purchase of the puppy. Moving forward whatever happens in the future i just don't want to be connected to them anymore. Thus the need for full ownership.

So you want to continue to produce genetically screwed up dogs.

No more help from me.

If I were you, I'd take my refund and rid myself of this breeder bully.

Good luck.

a puppy is not an appliance that you can easily return for refund. Again the breeders new that the litters have heart murmur which is a health concern and a deal breaker have we known this information. Heart murmur can be serious or benign but should have been disclosed prior to sale. The only way to confirm if it is serious thru an ekg test at 1 year old.

And yes we have proof that they have knowledge of the heart murmur when the litter is at 6 weeks old. And now i'm following up on the registration papers of my puppy and getting no response from them. I'll file a formal complaint with AKC.

They are listed with the AKC, they have released the papers of the other litters who did not complain, for those who did, they are not releasing them even though we have paid in full. With the uncertainty of not being able to breed if his condition is serious, but we are hoping that it's not.
