Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Scram Bracelet ( False Positive?)

Does anyone have more info on these damnned things? I am accused of drinking on mine when I wasn't. It took 6 days for them to tell me and on top of it they replaced the one I was wearing because it was not not working. Now my probation officer wants to revoke my probation. Is there anything I can do? Please help.

Were you not given specific directions on the wearing of the device? The device can pick up alcohol from lotions and soaps and don't forget some over the counter cold remedies has alcohol as does some shampoos and conditioners. You have to check everything you use daily really carefully for the ingrediants. If it says alcohol in the ingrediants don't buy it don't use it. Find an alternative.
 
Wndex, Clorox clean-up, many other cleaners, do not say they contain alcohol yet do, RFI plays a role in erroneous reads as well! If ignorance was no excuse, then what is the excuse to stand behind a for-profit company who propelled this product into the court system with no independant study, then proceeded to claim it was infallible so they would buy, then set up their own program which does not allow a defendant time for an actual toxicology test and prove their device junk science? Fact- no alcohol need be detected to be charge with a violation from the device, happens to most during dormancy, called obstruction, yet their test ( which they will send an employee to testify ignorant..."not that I know of") shows they tried to mask a drinking episode with a black trash bag, sock, cardboard and saran wrap, all distorted the TAC/BrAC correlation, none succeeded in masking, yep alcohol was still detected with a slow burn off rate and the sock was the most effective.... and they still revoke probations without corroborating evidence why....IGNORANCE!

There should be a spike- immediate jump and decline in the read if it is an outside influence, retarding the diffusion of alcohol is that it is trapped in between the leg and the bracelet-water gets into the bracelet itself and may play a part as found in the first PIRE research that when concluded will be the second independant study specifically on SCRAM, and the way it looks thus far, it will not have gained the "scientifically accepted" status these devices are supposed to aquire before they're launched into the legal community

I just found out I tested positive on Thursday, Today is Tuesday. I looked back on things, and remember I was at a hair stylist that wasn't using alcohol. . . but the place might have had "atmospheric contaminants." What, no more haircuts?

Furthermore, I got this thing in Oakland Country, Michigan and have yet to even enter a PLEA, so this looks bad on sentencing. Did I drink? NO. Not a freakin' drop.

If this is going to cause serious damage to me than, I am wishing to start up a web page for Scram Defense for others as a specific clearing house. There was already one case I found in Oakland Country where the judge threw out the results from Scram and won't use it anymore.

Use of SCRAM VS EtG testing

Anyone that is being subjected to SCRAM devices for alcohol monitoring should also be aware of Ethylglucuronide testing. This test may vindicate some people accused of drinking though it does have some controversy for some people that seem to produces EtG without alcohol consumption. Please research this test and the identified pros and drawbacks concerning this test. It is now commercially available and is becoming more widely used in monitoring programs and through the courts.

Our 6th amendment rights are being smashed and its time that AMS is stopped. I was not drinking, hadnt been drinking, I a being accused and yet I was at work with employees to verify, can pass a polygraph which I am in the process of doing now. Sixth amendment rights have nothing to do with illegal searches. Sixth amendment gives you right to an attorney, trial by jury, fair and public trial, etc.

You're referencing illegal and intrusive searches.

That is allegedly protected by the fourth amendment.
 
Even so, if it is a condition of probation/parole then there is still no constitutional problem.

Will they accept apolygraph because if so I will take one also, I did get a ua done within 72 hours just havent got the results from it yet which I know are going to be negative. I want to prove to the ass that put this thing on me that they do have false positives

hi vicki, my names kelly and i have to wear the ankle bracelet and now my probation officer is saying that 2 weeks ago i was drinking. i have not touched an alcholic becerage since my dwi. i dont know what to do because the judge is not going to belive me. all i can say is that we start a lawsuite against them because obviously there are misreading and now my life is in jeporady.
 
hello everybody, my name is scott. i was arrested christmas eve 2010 and the scram bracelet was part of my bond. if was my 3rd dwi . i plead guilty to felony dwi. my sentence was to wear the bracelet for 1 year then back to court and reduce my charge to class a misdemnor with 6 months probation. ive wore the bracelet without a glitch all year . payed on time did all my downloads daily. with 2 weeks left my bracelet started giving confirmed tampers without alcohol readings. the d.a. said i had to wear the bracelet until after 1-2-2012. 1 year would have been 12-28-11. i found out today that 12-26-11 there was a confimed tamper with alcohol. now after all this i have to figure out how to convince the judge i wasnt drinking. i can fill the court room with witnesses. think thats enough????????????
 
my name is brenda and i am being accused of drinking alcohol when wearing a scram bracelet! this is a bunch of shit! i was not and will not drink acohol while wearing this bracelet nor being on probation! i am in the dui court treatment program and i have been sober for over 1 year now. i came in contact with a male friend that has been drinking alcohol, and i truely believe that his sweat and sexual contact with me made my bracelet a positive using but this false positive! the number rule in this program is being honest and i am being very honest that i was not drinking any acohol what so ever! and my po says that i am lying and he also said that there was a tamper and i have no clue what that was about. i am very afraid that the judge on wednesday will not believe so what should i do please someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I'm wondering if you're aware of exactly how much contact and how much alcohol ingestion by your...friend...would be necessary for it to actually affect your readings.

I'm guessing not.

dont know how much alcohol he consumed but i do know that he was drunk! and there was sexual contact.

I wouldn't buy that story, though. Be prepared.
 
i do know that my male friend was very hi8ghly intoxacated and we did have sexual contact. what do u think i should do

And again, I wouldn't buy the "My sexual partner was so intoxicated that his sweat/fumes set off a false positive". I wouldn't believe that at all.
 
Kelly what happened? I have been accused too... Even though ive been wearing it for 15 months now....last month the false reading came up.... Please reply
