got caught shoplifting, 80 dollars of merchandise, went to police station, now for arraignment.. i had a clean record.. 58 years old. female.. i was told by police that i would get a fine. and have a record.. is this what will happen?
Get a criminal attorney. We have no idea what the details of the case are. A court may allow you an alternative sentence, such as Deferred Adjudication / Pretrial Diversion. In such an instance you may be able to avoid have a criminal conviction on your criminal record if you complete a probationary period successfully.
