Snow removal laws and requirements in NYC

People on Reddit are posting ghastly photos of snow covering streets and cars.

My sisters in NYC are snowed in.

It's sunny in Phoenix. It'll be 60 degrees here by Noon. Not a snowflake in sight.

Same here in Vegas. 53 right now with the high of 60 by midafternoon.

Just had a nice coffee break in my patio in the warm sun. It was nice.

And truly, I am not gloating. I'm sorry if it seems I am. :)

For the most part, the roads and sidewalks have been cleared. My guess is that the poster was able to clear the sidewalk before leaving for work because the snow subsided in the very early hours of the morning. There are supposed to be additional snow showers but the sky seems clear now. I'll leave all of you with a nice photo of the state of snow in New York City and an image of our famous black snow.

I worked in Boston and have a very good idea of what your black snow looks like.

Now. If you are interested in Norman Rockwell charm and beauty?

Marblehead Mass, Washington Street on a snowy day. Even weeks later it isn't black. Might get a bit brown...but never black.

BTW: All the bldgs date to back to the 17th and 18th century.
I lived there for 7 years and absolutely loved it!!
