We did a job for a customer and after signing and agreeing to all the charges the customer went in the truck and stole the paperwork. Now we don't have any proof of service. This is a moving company by the way. What options do we have in a situation like this?

Without PROOF, you have no options.

I suggest you report the matter to the police, if you observed someone stealing anything from your truck.

However, if you did work for this person, you could sue them for what they owe you.

Your employees could testify as to what they did in moving their goods.

If the amount owed is in dispute, why not work out a compromise?

Its better to get some slices of bread, if you can't get the whole loaf.

Even if you prevail in court, collecting your judgment isn't asy.

However, if you didn't see anyone stealing anything, you'd be smart to stop accusing people of crimes.

You can be sued for slandering their good name.

Be careful, and the next time, lock the truck and have duplicate copies made.
