Guiliani ordered by court to forfeit millions of dollars in assets to election workers he defamed

He did no where near the level of damage that was awarded, I am sure they could pay the taxes on that multi million dollar NY property. I am not sure since Rudy declared bankruptcy and he is allowed possession of one property that this doesn't break the law somehow?

Although democrats are great at breaking laws and getting the other party to pay for it. Kicking out Republican poll observers and mysteriously finding hundred of thousands of ballots stuffed in back suitcases isn't suspicious at all. I am thinking this time it will not come down to Georgia and they can steal that state all they want. Trump picks up Arizona and Nevada along with 1 or 2 of the following Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania then this will ensure an electoral college win. Georgia and their ballot stuffing can stuff up theirs since it will not make a difference.

What makes my skin crawl is the grave injustice Guiliani did to those poor women.
He shamed himself and imperiled the lives of a mother and daughter to spew his lies. I, for one, am glad that he is not enabled by the courts to duck the monetary judgement he rightfully owes.

Right, just like NAZI Germany the NAZI fascist liberal celebrate crooked courts and crooked governments. As long as the checks keep coming the slaves can stay on the plantation. You see the welfare slaved Africans that were in this country during with American Revolution also sided with the British. They always side with the losing party as long as they promise to keep the checks coming.

If the democratic party is ever to save itself then it will need to move beyond DEI, Race bating, reparations, and hateful political rhetoric which puts lives in danger while pointing the finger as it being the Republican's fault. We had a supermodel of a first lady named Melania who never made a major magazines cover page but BIG MIkeoloma O'Bama made it on all of them. You see they hate whiteys and white America for it gave them power, and with that power they want to destroy America to a woke racist 3rd world country.

Power corrupts absolutely and absolute power makes them feel like they can create an equitable outcome and not have to work for it. For you see no matter how much power or leadership ability you gave Huesein O'Bama, he was never going to be satified or happy for he hates white America!

I'm sorry - that was all a bit muffled and difficult to understand. Perhaps you out to make the mouth cut-out in your sheet a little bigger...

Get off your high horse. That is just bullshit.

What this thread strikes me as is the glee that some members feel at the ruination of a man because he was Trumps lawyer and believed what he was saying. That is just sick!
Reactions:stealthy1, EeeeekitsaMouse, Zigner and 1 other person Reactions:stealthy1, Zigner and justblue

But not for a corrupt court and judge, this would not have happened and will likely be overturned in time like all the prosecutions of Trump and his supporters.
Yep, you betcha - couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Is it a shame that what was once a great man made such poor choices. Oh well.

Say what now?

If you have an ounce of justice flowing in your blood as an attorney, this should make your skin crawl.

Why should it make my skin crawl? Guiliani was found liable for defamation after a trial by a jury — ordinary people like you and me — and the amount he owed was also determined by the jury. The lawsuit was brought by ordinary people, election workers, not by any government agency. Guiliani also had the opportunity to appeal the judgement and lost that, too. None of this is extraordinary or unfair. He had the same benefit of defending himself that every American has, indeed more so given that he had the money to pay expensive lawyers to represent him, and ordinary Americans determined that the plaintiffs had the better case. Guiliani didn't pay the judgment after losing the appeal and thus the plaintiffs sought enforcement of the judgment from the court. The court has the power to order his assets sold to pay the judgment. That happens every business day in this country.

All that is how our legal system is designed to function so I see nothing egregious here. Guliani wasn't railroaded by an out of control government. The only role the government had in this is that a judge acted as referee in the case. The determination of what Guiliani owed was entirely up to the jury to decide.

As a lawyer, it's sad for me to see how much Guiliani has declined in his legal skills and mental capability from the days when he was in top form as a federal prosecutor and mayor of NYC. Several of Guiliani's former colleagues at the U.S. Attorney's office have remarked on just how evident the decline had become. Had he been more on the ball he never would have made statements he did that got him in trouble. Any good lawyer would avoid making the mistakes he did. I don't think it was anything intentional on his part but simply a sign of his declining capability as he ages. Like wine, some people age better than others.

I am not wasting my time, good luck getting that Harris Walz thing elected. From what I have seen Trump will be the next President and it can not come at a better time.

You mean you hope that Trump will win. The polls show the election in a dead heat; neither candidate beats out the other enough to overcome the margin of error of the polls. Polling is also not a exact science; just look at the various polling failures this century for proof that relying too much on poll numbers can lead you astray. The presidential election could go either way and the big difference at this point will likely come down to which side is better at getting out their supporters to vote in the battleground states.

Unlike you, I don't see Trump as a savior. He's too narcissistic, self-centered, and publicity hungry to really care if what he does is actually good policy for the average American. All that he really cares about is what is good for Trump. His first term was chaotic; if he wins this election his second term promises to be even more so.

Really? In what universe is a judgement of $148,000,000 make any sense to compensate the mother and daughter poll workers? How were their lives changed because of Guiliani's statements? They weren't changed at all. There were no repercussions to their jobs or their standing in their community. How were they damaged? Although Moss did leave her job by her own volition.

You say that is how our legal system is designed to function. I disagree. Our legal system in civil cases is to make the parties whole and to deter others by tacking on punitive damages if warranted.

This case, like all the cases that target Trump and his supporters, are a perversion of our legal system and designed not to follow the law or make someone whole but to ruin the target. That is not justice.

I see you have the Democratic talking points down pat. The only one you're missing is the Hitler narrative. But what you say doesn't jive with history. You have yet to explain even one policy or action that Trump took during his presidency that backs up your opinion.

He means killing the corrupt deep state, putting the professional governmental agents on notice, and pulling the security clearance from all the non citizen, communists that hold them.
