The "debt" may be over 6 years old but when was the "default."
The default date is generally after when the last payment was made on time and the next payment became due and was not paid.
What was that date?
If it's more than 6 years from that date then a lawsuit is time barred but if you get sued you cannot ignore it and you have to raise the SOL as an affirmative defense.
