United Healthcare CEO assassinated.

Wouldn't be surprised if using the DDD wasn't a false flag for a hit because of the DOJ/SEC investigation. Harry Markopolis wrote that he feared for a hit upon himself or on Bernie Madoff by some of Madoff's underworld, third world kleptocracy and just plain financially injured customers

Not sure if a medical healthcare provider should make huge profit millionaires CEOs driven by money and power to benefit off the medical needs of others. It puts an undo incentive on valuing company profits over people health care. In this new environment you do not have many choices but United Healthcare is the benchmark on what a bad healthcare company is and can do.
That's the very kind of thing that supporters of government run healthcare systems like Canada and Wester European nations cite as reasons why private healthcare should be abolished. So are you in favor of European style socialized medicine to cure the problem of overpaid doctors and health care company executives? The most ardent defenders of the free market would say that if the market values a CEOs worth to the company at $10 million then the government has no business interfering in that, or in rejecting Musk's $56 billion compensation package, as a judge did a few days ago. So are you comfortable with the government making those decisions?

It didn't take long for the unsupported conspiracy theories to come out. Is there a shortage of tin foil being reported? We seem to have a lot of conspiracy theories lately.

I do not know all about their models, but I am sure there is drawbacks to both systems. I DO NOT invest in nor do I buy stock in healthcare organizations, and drug companies. It creates a system whereby the executives and companies themselves benefit from just an increase in denying claims. They then profit off the pain and suffering along with deaths of Americans.

My property insurance companies along with healthcare company now are not publicly trade and have no boards to impress. They invest policy holder dollars and PAY claims by keeping them in ACV claims. I do not believe insurance companies and healthcare companies should be able to benefit from the deaths of Americans. GEICO is an example of an insurance company that keeps their stock rolled into a larger Berkshire Hathaway group of companies. I do not think UHC at $550 dollars a share is acting in their policyholders best interests but rather their boards and executives who milk their lavish lifestyles off the backs of average good faith seeking Americans.

This needs to change.

Luigi Mangione is presumed innocent unless/until proven guilty in a court of law.

I'll accept and respect the verdict rendered by 12 good citizens sitting in judgment of the matter, assuming a trial eventually convenes and a verdict is rendered by a dozen, responsible jurors.

Actually, UHC, as a publicly traded corporation, acts first in the interests of its shareholders, which indirectly benefits the executives. The compensation and future of executives at publicly traded corporations is generally closely tied to stock performance. CEOs in particuar do very well when the stock is riding high but if the stock tanks the CEO may be shown the exit door. Again, that's the free market at work. In order to change that, some kind of government intervention would have to take place.

Police said they recovered a two-page manifesto that railed against the healthcare industry and stated, "These parasites had it coming," when they captured a suspect Monday in the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Luigi Mangione, 26, was arrested on gun charges after being captured at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, following a nationwide manhunt sparked by Thompson's murder Wednesday outside a midtown Manhattan hotel. Mangione has not been charged in connection with the killing.

Police not only recovered a gun and suppressor similar to what was used in the shooting, but multiple fake IDs, and "a handwritten document that speaks to both his motivation and mindset," New York Police Department Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Monday at a news conference.

"He was railing against the healthcare industry, which of course fits into the scenario here," John Miller, CNN's chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst, told "CNN News Central." "He talks about how these parasites had it coming. He starts off basically saying, I don't want to cause any trauma, but it had to be done.

"So, a second page really kind of goes into problems with the health industry. He raises the question, you know, Why do we have the most expensive healthcare in the world, but we're rated 42 in life expectancy around the world? I can't vet his facts or findings there, but it was talking about the healthcare industry and the need for violence, especially when you talk about the opening, which is, that it had to be done. These parasites had it coming. That does kind of fit in with what we're talking about."

Mangione is from Towson, Maryland, and he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2020. His major at the Ivy League school was in computer science, and he minored in mathematics. He has addresses in Towson, Philadelphia and Honolulu, which is believed to be his last known address.

Tisch said among the fake IDs recovered was a "fraudulent New Jersey ID matching the ID our suspect used to check into his New York City hostel before the shooting." She said NYPD detectives are heading to Pennsylvania to interview the suspect.

leave it to stealthy to make it political. I am wondering what drove this person to do this. He came from a wealthy family, and had the tools to get on with his life.

If it was to elicit change this will not do it, I have read where the killer had back surgery. I am wondering if this was a bad experience for the killer. There are other means to handle this situation than taking out the CEO of a garbage Health Insurance company. I have too been burnt by UHC and would never do business with them but for many people they do not have a choice.

Brian Thompson was not a talented nor smart CEO, he saw an opportunity to utilize an AI denial process for UHC which was implemented roughly 2-3 years ago. This process automatically denied claims and via doing this tripled or doubled the profitability of UHC. They were under an active DOJ investigation and then proceeded to dump some 18 million dollars of their stock. They operated as an ongoing criminal enterprise via their business practices. They were going to be investigated but ultimately could have gotten off without any indictments via legislative payoffs.

United Healthcare should be kicked out of every hospital and clinic, they serve no value to their patients. They basically are the Wal Mart of Healthcare. Do not pay reasonable billing rates. I believe eventually they will be chopped up or torn apart. Either way they are complete and utter garbage and the worst of what investor grade health insurance companies can become.

Amen, brother, amen.

Violence, lawlessness never solved anything.

The outlaw shooter needlessly took a human life, and in the process destroyed his own life, too!!!!
