I have been charged with simple assault, due to an argument with my husband,he was arrested I wasnt but I have a ticket and court date, but its been almost 3 weeks and I have not recieved a police report, so I do not know what I did to get this charge, how do I get the police report so I can defend myself, I am not even sure what the penalty is for this charge etc.

My son co-signed for a car for his girlfriend. Several of the first 6 payments were late which has affected his previuosly excellent credit rating. Is there any way to get out from under this debt? He would like to end the relationship entirely. If she misses a payment can he take possesion of the car and sell it? If it were sold would she be entitled to any money for what she has put into it? She is the sole driver of the car. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I need advice...I live in nc in forsyth county, my fiance and i had an argument and i hit him and he pushed me , i called the police and we told them our sides and they arrested my fiance and he was put in jail for 3days and i told them i didnt want to press charges and know i have a subpoena...how do i get out of this subpoena and why was i serv.a subpoena when i stated i didnt want to press charges?

My wife & I bought a car two weeks ago. She doesn't drive, but is on insurance as owner, finance co wants her as a driver. But she doesn't drive due to medical reasons. She has no licenses/ So they are now saying deal can't go threw because of this. We bought this car 2 wks ago and they are now harassing us over her not being on insurance as a driver. Does anyone know if they can take the car back because of this. It never said in the contract she had to be driver. She is on the loan as co applicant. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated!

Have a question, need advice.
I created a t-shirt design about 5 and a half years ago and after getting permission to use a quote on the back from Nelson Publishing, I registered and obtained a copyright on the design. At that time and before getting the copyright, I had searched the internet to see if there was anyone who had done anything close to what I was developing - I found nothing.
Well, recently, I submitted this design to one of the top manufacturing t-shirt companies - they replied today saying they liked the design, it was clever, but they had goggled it and found 3 other designs close to it, though not as well executed as my design. I did my own search and found one. I tried to look into who created it, but was not able to find a name. In comparing the two, my design is totally different in composition and the way I have illustrated the picture. The statement is the same and the person saying the statement is the same, that's it. My design has an added quote as I stated before, there's does not. Problem is, I didn't know this was out there and don't know when theirs was created. My design is rendered completely differently and the composition is completely different.
Am I in violation of copyright law? Does my work stand as a totally new and
different design that I can use on t-shirts, posters, banners, etc. Need help with this - I don't want to do anything that would violate this other designer's copyright and I don't want to just toss my copyrighted idea. I'd like to submit to you the two designs for you to view, if at all possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hello. are you familar with federal habeas corpus petitions? rather, i am trying to litigate a conviction after non litigation in about 10 years. i was convicted by jury. as you know, important issues are never argued on appeal these days if u have no lawyer. i have strong constitutional issues but i need some direction.

Hello, I received a letter in the mail from a mortgage company offering to refinance my home. They said that they had been working with me back in 2007. They went on to say that they had recently reviewed my file and could now get this refinace done. Of course after I submitted the information they were not able to get this done due to the value of my home not being sufficient. Can they do this, tell you that they can get this done then not get it done?

here is my question.

i know this guy(who has a business) that made copies of invoices that belong to another company with out there permission. The company is owned by one of his employees. he took the copies home to his home office, he admits he went through some of the other companies invoices but you can clearly he went through all of them. i know this because he chew tabacco and on the corners of the pages there is stains from him licking his finger before turning the page.

I wanted to know if i should tell the employee to take action in court and if it is again the law for the guy to have done that?

I hold a $850 judgement against a man who did a bad tile job in my house. His mortgage company is now suing him for foreclosure, and has named me as a defendant, citing that my judgement is "junior". What do I need to do? it says I need to respond within 20 days- can I write an answer myself or do I need to hire an attorney?

i was arrested for a dui in CT a year ago.; failed field sobriety test; (foot impediment)
handcuffed in cop car for dui, cops found small amt of pot. My BAC was .03;urine same; no drugs in my system- case was dismissed. I was fired from my job for not reporting an arrest; I filed suit for unlawful termination.
Under the fruits of the forbidden tree doctrine, being that the dui was dismissed; can the pot charge (2.3 mg) be excluded as evidence as in the pretrial hearing? Was the dui an illegal arrest (dismissed) ? CAN I FILE A MOTION FOR THE POT CHARGE TO BE RULED AS INADMISSIBLE UNDER F OF F T doctrine?

I have a question. I was going to do business with someone, which winded up not working out. But in the midst of the relationship she asked if I would give her a personal loan via a HomeDepot line of credit. I took it out for $20,000. She charged almost the entire credit card (which was opened in November 2006 and had a 1 year 0% APR promotion). She only paid off $6000 within the first year, and the remaining 13k had all of that interest (about 2k) put back on. So by January 2008 she owed a little over 15k.

It's now nearing the end of 2008 and our original agreement was that she'd pay the card off by January 1 of 2008, which obviously she hasnt done. She's currently making minimum payments (which averages 400 per month) but she's claiming not to have all that money to pay off the rest just yet.

Question is can I sue her in court to get her to pay the credit card (which is in my name only). If you're wondering about a contract, right now everything is in email. She admits several times that all that money was charged up by her and that she has every intention to pay. Plus, she was charging the account on the authorized card I took out in her name (which I eventually closed of course). So she doesn't deny owing me at all.

So, would it help to take her to court? Also, if I win, will she be responsible for legal fees? One more piece of background: at the time we took out the card, she was making 250k per year and had 50k sitting in her bank account and now she's claiming she closed her business due to the bad economy and is struggling to pay her mortgage.

I bought a boat with another person. Now, he does not want it and has not paid his half on the loan for the boat these past few months. There also repairs made on the boat and he doe not want to pay for his half. does he lose his right to use the boat and eventually ownership of it for he has defaulted on his half of the payments. I have been paying the loan and other expenses.
